Our trip into Shaftesbury

We had a great time today on our trip into Shaftesbury. First, Holly class visited St. Peter's church where we met Rev. Helen. She told us what all the different items on the alter symbolised and then showed us what she wears when she leads a church service. Can you remember why she wears all those different things? Can you tell an adult what the dove represents?

After the church we had a drink and a snack on Gold Hill and met a very friendly cat! Next we went to the Gold Hill museum where we were detectives. We were given some objects and we had to work out what they were made of, what they were used for and who would have used them. What was your favourite object? Did any of the objects surprise you?

We had great fun dressing up too! The children all behaved brilliantly and the museum helpers were very impressed with the children's questioning and describing skills. Our INSPIRE focus for this morning was "To ask relevant questions" and "To show good manners" - 10 INSPIRE points each then! Well done Holly Class!
