Drawing in the style of Georgia O'Keefe

In Science today we found out that flowers have male and female parts! We found out what these were called and their functions and then labelled a diagram. Then we looked at some paintings by Georgia O'Keefe who is famous for her large scale flower pictures. We created some sketches of our own after looking at some buttercups, daisies and red campions.

Wincombe Woods

After a wet couple of days we had a very long, muddy walk in the woods this morning! The children came up with some fantastic ideas to use in their writing this week. A big thank you to all the adults who came to help too.

Chestnut's times table challenge

Today in Chestnut Class we took our first times table challenge. The children now have the times table they need stuck in their reading record at the back. They need to know these in any order and have very little time to count. Please take the time to help your child at home. Next test is Monday 22nd May.
