Today we looked at what different bones in our body are called. We knew lots of common names and began to learn their scientific names.

Partitioning to subtract with exchanging

Today we used base 10 to help us understand the concept of exchanging or 'borrowing'.

We have thought about how to balance in different ways on different parts of our bodies.

No Pen Day

What a wonderful day we had full of purposeful talk and practical activities!

We had practical partitioning games.

We had show and tell sessions.

Then we started our class read George's Marvellous Medicine and role played being Granny and George.

After lunch we watched the story of 'Bear feels sick' and talked about how we can make ourselves feel better if we have a cold.

Finally we went to the computer room and did some coding!

Happy New Year!

The last two days has seen us 

- planning and writing a recount about our Christmas Day

-  thinking about a gift we each could give the world that would make it a better place 

- exploring place value using base 10 apparatus 

- and finally comparing numbers up to 1000.

Next week we have a NO Pen Day to look forward to as well as beginning our class reader George's Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl. If your child has a copy of the book it would be great if they could bring it in BUT please put their name inside.
