Golden time
The children of Chestnut class earned their golden time today. Most had a mad 10 minutes run on the equipment outside in the sunshine while others painted. Then they got the construction kits out in the shade and fiddled... Here is a great model that was made.

The Pollination Process
We dressed up as flowers today and used tennis balls as pollen to explore how flowers are pollinated by insects. Some the children were the pollinators- bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Can you explain what happens during pollination to someone at home?
Parallel and perpendicular lines
We went on another line hunt today, this time looking for parallel and perpendicular lines. How many can you spot at home?

What does a plant need to grow healthily?
In our investigations we found plants must have water.
We also found that these seeds grow best in soil planted many together in a light sunny spot.
We used bean seeds to show that seeds planted too deep will end up too wet and rot while planting a seed just below the surface will grow but with a weak stem. The healthiest plant is planted about 5 centimetres deep.
Reader Awards
Congratulations to Ben (who achieved his last week!), Faye, Luc and Polly who have all got their Bronze Reader Awards.

Wild and wet woodland walk
Year 3 scrambled into their wellies to go for a muddy walk in the woods today. This was to support their creative writing. Fun was had by all!
